Namesake: Warrick and Emma 2

I sketched this last NIGHT when I couldn't sleep and I was so excited to work on it that I've been working on it ALLLL day despite being on and off feverish.

I'm not sure how I feel about the scene/background. I may have been able to do better but honestly that was the least of my concerns. I think the perspective is a bit off so Warrick looks smaller than he shoulder.

Emma obviously has more shape than him but he just looks a bit too short, even if he's SUPPOSE to look smaller since he's behind her. I don't know..good enough I guess.

Ok so..I wanted to do a picture based around the switched roles thing that Isa and Meg portray well in their story. I wanted to make sure they were representing the sword and shield in the image but trying to get them close together in a way that properly displays it was a bit..weird.

I realised I couldn't have the shield covering them completely, else the colours get messed up due to layering. I couldn't make them covered and NOT have the colours effected because that wouldn't make sense. So I compromised by having the shield -forming- around them or collapsing. Whichever you prefer to see it as.

The important piece is that Emma has a piece of shield on her left arm. So she has the sword in her right and Warrick's shield on the left. He is the shield and on her opposite side. I made sure he would be on the side not occupied by her sword so he could represent her shield.

They're basically an extension of each other in this.

Emma's outfit is based off her new dress she gets from Selva after being healed and her starting outfit when she first arrives in Oz. Then I just..screwed around with a design.

The glow of the sword is suppose to look as close as possible to the comic which is why it's appearing behind her figure and not overtop. Just a style choice, there.

Lastly..WARRICKS DAMN CLOAK. Omg..I drew the FEATHERS trying to figure out how they work but without proper reference of the details I couldn't. So I had to use close to the comic style again and I basically used the gradient c olouring to have the top half of him in black and the bottom half more clear for lines and shapes to be seen(like his legs)
